Who runs this site
Air Fryer Baking (airfryerbaking.com) is a recipe and baking website owned and run by Sujata Thapa. Every recipe and guide published here is tested in a home kitchen, and the site is operated by an individual rather than a company.
For anything in this policy, write to contact@airfryerbaking.com. That address reaches the site owner directly.
The short version
You can read every recipe, guide and calculator on this site without giving us anything. There is no account to create, and we never sell your details to data brokers. The only personal information we hold ourselves is what you type in: your email if you subscribe, and your name and email if you comment. This site is funded by display advertising and affiliate links, so where those are running, advertising partners may also set cookies. The sections below name every one of them and show you how to opt out.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter.
- Your name, email address and comment, if you leave a comment on a recipe. Your name is shown publicly next to the comment. Your email address is not published.
- Whatever you write to us, if you send an email.
All of these are voluntary. Nothing on this site requires them in order to read the content.
Information collected automatically
When any page loads, our analytics records a small amount of technical information about the visit:
- Which pages you viewed and how long you stayed
- The site or search engine that referred you
- Browser and device type, and screen size
- Approximate location, at country or city level, worked out from your IP address
This is used to see which recipes are worth writing more of. It is not tied to a name, and we cannot use it to identify you personally.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. It sets its own cookies and reports the technical details listed above to Google. IP addresses are anonymized by Google Analytics 4 by default, so we never see your full IP address.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.
Email newsletter
The subscribe forms on this site are provided by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf and sends the emails. If you subscribe, Kit holds your email address and basic delivery information such as whether a message was opened.
We use your address only to send air fryer baking recipes and guides. We do not sell, rent or share the subscriber list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing removes your address from the list permanently. You can also ask us to remove it by email.
Comments
Comments run on standard WordPress. When you leave one, WordPress stores the name, email address and comment text you submitted, along with your IP address and browser user agent, which help with spam filtering. Your name and comment are public. Your email and IP address are not.
If your email address is registered with Gravatar, a hashed version of it may be sent to that service so your avatar can be displayed. You can ask us to delete any comment you have left, and we will.
Cookies and browser storage
There are two separate things happening here, and most privacy policies blur them together.

The last two are worth being clear about. They use your browser's local storage rather than cookies, they never leave your device, and they are never sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes them, and the only effect is that the calculator forgets your calibration.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them does not stop you reading anything on this site.

The Pinterest buttons on recipe pages are plain links. They load nothing and track nothing until you actually click one.
Advertising
This site is funded partly by display advertising. Ads pay for the ingredients, the hosting and the testing time, and they are the reason every recipe here stays free to read with no paywall and no subscription.
Advertising partners and their own vendors use cookies and similar technologies to count how many people saw an ad, to stop you being shown the same one repeatedly, and, where you have consented, to choose ads based on your browsing. This is a broader category of tracking than the analytics described above, which is why it is separated out here and why it is covered by the consent choice below.
Where Google advertising is used, Google and its partners may set cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn personalized Google ads off at My Ad Center, and opt out of many advertising vendors at once at the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page or Your Online Choices in Europe. Opting out does not remove advertising, it makes it less targeted.
Your consent controls this. If you are in the UK, the EU or California, the consent banner on your first visit decides whether advertising cookies are set at all. You can reopen it from the link in the site footer and change your answer whenever you like, and declining does not restrict anything you can read.
Affiliate links
Some pages link to products we have used, mainly cake pans, thermometers and air fryers, and some of those are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy something after following one of these links, this site earns a small commission and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway.
Clicking an affiliate link passes a referral tag to the retailer so the sale can be credited, and the retailer usually sets its own cookie to remember that referral for a period. We never see your order, your name, your address or your payment details. What comes back to us is an anonymous report that a purchase happened, with no way to connect it to a person.
A commission never buys a recommendation. Equipment is judged on how it performed in a real kitchen, and anything that disappointed is either left out or described honestly as disappointing. Where a page carries affiliate links, that is disclosed on the page itself, not only here.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your details to data brokers. Your email address and any comment you leave are never sold, rented or traded.
- We do not share the newsletter list. Subscribing to recipes does not put you on anyone else's mailing list.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for in order to read the site, so there are no passwords to store.
- No paywall. Every recipe, guide and calculator is readable in full whether or not you accept advertising cookies.
- We do not build profiles ourselves. We never combine analytics with your email or comment to work out who you are.
If any of this changes, for example if a new advertising partner or analytics tool is added, this policy is updated first and the date at the top changes with it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, data protection law such as the UK and EU GDPR, or the CCPA in California, gives you the following rights over personal data we hold about you:
- Access. Ask what we hold about you.
- Correction. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion. Ask us to erase it, including your comments and your newsletter subscription.
- Withdraw consent. Unsubscribe at any time, from any email.
- Object or restrict. Ask us to stop a particular use of your data.
- Portability. Ask for a copy of what you gave us.
Email contact@airfryerbaking.com and we will action it. There is no charge, and in practice the amount of data involved is small: usually just an email address or a comment.
California: do not sell or share my personal information
We do not sell personal information for money. However, California law defines "selling" and "sharing" broadly enough that allowing advertising partners to collect cookie data for targeted advertising can count as a share, even though no money changes hands and we never hand over your name or email.
To opt out, decline advertising cookies in the consent banner, reopen it from the footer link at any time, or email us and we will apply the opt-out for you. We honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser. Exercising this right changes nothing about what you can read.
Children
This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Recipes and guides here link out to other websites, including manufacturer pages and reference sources. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, and this policy no longer applies. We have no control over how those sites handle your data, so it is worth checking their own policies.
Security and retention
The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the site is encrypted. We take reasonable steps to protect the small amount of data we hold, but no website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
We keep data only as long as it is useful. Comments stay until you ask us to remove them or the post is deleted. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Analytics data expires on Google's own retention schedule.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Substantial changes affecting subscribers will be mentioned in the newsletter. It is worth glancing at this page occasionally, though it does not change often.
